About Us

STEMVillage was founded by brothers Joseph and Will Phelps, united by a shared passion for science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) and a mission to inspire the next generation of innovators.

Joseph is a National Economics Challenge Champion and former Bank of America Student Leader. Joseph has led impactful STEM initiatives throughout Howard County and the Baltimore area, including at Morgan State University. He has developed camps and workshops that have reached over 1,600 students. His drive to create STEM opportunities was deeply personal—he was inspired by his younger brother, Will, and his wish to provide engaging, well-rounded STEM programs that foster strategic thinking, emotional intelligence, and executive presence.

Will’s passion for STEM and leadership development has been evident since an early age, showcased by his successes in Math, Engineering, Science Achievement (MESA) and Model United Nations competitions. Both a student and an inspiration for STEMVillage’s mission, Will embodies the creativity, empathy, curiosity, and confidence the brothers aim to instill in others.

Safety & Policies

Your child’s safety is our top priority.

This is how we ensure a safe and supportive environment for all campers:

• All staff members undergo background checks.

• At least two staff members are on-site until all campers have been picked up.

• A Red Cross-certified CPR instructor is always present on-site.

• We maintain a low staff-to-camper ratio to provide personalized attention.

• All staff are trained in first aid and emergency protocols to handle any unexpected situations.
